I am a Professor and Director of the Work, Technology, and Organization Research Center at emlyon business school. I examine professions and expertise in the context of regulatory and technological change. I am particularly interested in the expert work involved in regulating science and innovation, and the implications for scientists and technologists. I have published my work in Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, and Regulation & Governance. I am a Senior Editor at Organization Science and founder of the Ethnography Atelier.

I was born in Alberta, Canada. I receieved my Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management. I hold an MSc in Economics and Philosophy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA in Women’s Studies from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining emlyon, I was an Associate Professor and William Dawson Scholar at McGill University.
